Color fade and shift.
The layers of chemicals that are sensitive to the light, were not stable on older slides. As such, the color on your precious family memories is shifting and dying. The ONLY remedy is to scan and digitize those images. Through the use of special software and hardware I am able to correct for most of the loss that is occurring.

How do you know that you're slides have color fading or color shift? Take a look at the image below. circa 1960 The owner of this photo thought that there was no color change of this young rider.

How bad can it be?A lot of the degradation of older images can be attributed to the storage environment. Most people don't go to the trouble of storing their images in a ph neutral, humidity and temperature controlled environment. These storage conditions will accelerate the destruction. As a result, other problems will occur, such as mold spores on the images.
